In a setback to TMC's national expansion plan, the party has failed to make a mark in the civic body election in Tripura. The BJP swept the election bag in 217 of the 222 seats in which elections were held on the 25th of November. The saffron party has already won 112 seats uncontested. The political war of words continued after the results as well. Trinamool Congress (TMC) alleging intimidation and rigging by the rulling party in the state.
